About Myself

I've been studying and practicing counselling since 1998 when I started my academic training in this field.

In 2000, I worked as a volunteer counsellor at Landmark in South London, with individuals who had been affected by HIV/AIDS. I was inspired to see how the provision of a safe, nurturing environment could promote personal growth and psychological well-being and how people can overcome obstacles in life despite their difficulties.

From 2001 until 2004 I worked as a bereavement counsellor at the Camden & Westminster Bereavement Service in London. Working with bereavement, I recognised that the crises we experience in life can act as a catalyst for change, or a search for meaning.

From 2004 until the present day I have been working within the substance misuse field, in Camberwell, South London, and in Ladbroke Grove, West London. I also run my private practice in South London.

My career so far has provided me with a wealth of experience and has shaped my practice along the way. I regard ongoing training as essential to my personal and professional development and regularly attend workshops and courses. I abide by the BACP ethical framework for good practice, and my work is subject to the professional conduct procedures therein.
